The old man...and this weekend

Well my Grandad had surgery the other day to get his pooper moving again. Something about his intestine getting pinched off in two places. My roommate was telling me that he was watching a Discovery channel about that type of thing one night. Apparently they didn't know how to fix it so the guy just kept eating. Eventually his colon got the size of a couple basketballs and it exploded. Thank God for modern medicine! Anyway, it sounds like he is going to be well, but he did have to get cut open so there is some healing time. Don't worry grandad, bloody steaks will be here soon enough!

This weekend - today heading to Ft. Collins to do the ultimate of nerdom...LAN party. Sigh, I never thought I would see the day I would haul my desktop to a friend's house, but I am and I am looking forward to it! Not sure what else is up with the weekend, but rest assured it won't be work. My birthday is next Saturday, so I am gonna see what I can hookup for that too.

Have a good one little ones, see you back here soon.

Heut ist Mein Tag!

Ever since I bought my iPod photo I have been listening to songs that I had utterly forgotten about.

For instance, in college I was completely obsessed with this German techno girl. It was a combination of really being into Germany, techno and hot chicks all at the same time. Yeah, those were the days.

But I moved on from her. Until now. I had no idea that some 200 of my 4000 song collection was her until I put the iPod on shuffle. Oh sweet Jesus!

Listening to my iPod on shuffle is like taking all these memories through 4 years of college and another year in California and telling them to randomly flow through my head. The Fiona Apple June, The Offspring September of 03, the Greenday release of Sophmore year late fall that was introduced to me by a friend of a friend who was in a ska band.

But in the end, I just like that I am listening to more Blumchen.

Blodnick's Food as of Late

A couple weekends ago I decided to take a trip up to Casper. My mother was finally done with tax season and my grandparents were back in town.

We went to the new trendy restaurant in Casper called 303. I had this amazing steak with a kind of bitter chocolate sauce on top. Oh my God! Wow, that was good. Cooked it medium and devoured the chocolatey bloody beefy goodness. HA! My grandpa got the Weiner Schnitzel...a thinly slized veal cutlet battered and fried. Wow was that tasty too. The first time I went in there they had Kobe beef...intesly marbled beef lightly seared and served close to raw. Very dissapointed they didn't have that again.

Also a few weekends ago Spencer and Jenny came to visit and I went to Tony's to get us some grub. We had fresh green beans, a mean steak that I grilled up and these fancy mash potato scoops. I also bought a bottle of Chianti, but alas I forgot to open it up. Someday though.

There, 2 posts in 2 days. I just blew your minds!

What's up?

Yeah, I know that I have been miserable with my blog for ages now. I mean, it has been a month since my last post, and its not as if they were frequent before then. It's kind of a circle of shame. I don't post, so I feel bad about not posting, but then I don't want to post and be expected to post.

Anyway, nice weekend this past one. My friend Ronnie and I drove around lookking at rental houses to get a feel for hte market and see what we can afford. It was a lot of fun. It truly is incredible how much the market varies. There are big beautiful houses and there are trash heeps built in the 60s. Not sure what we are going to do, but the possibility is out there anyway.

Also we went to PF Changs on Friday night with Ken, his fiancee and his sister. Got to love that place. As usual I ate too much to want to eat again anytime soon...but rest assured I did.

I had probably the worst 3 weeks of my worklife a few weeks ago. I was given this incredibly large job (145,000 sq. ft.) and told to design in in 3 weeks. It was very rough, but with tons of help we managed to get it out. Now I am just doing taskwork for people and it is hard to give a crap. Oh well, soon I will wish I was just doing taskwork again.

Take care peeps, hope you are all doing well.

As a side note, I once read that the average lifespan of a blog is 2 months. I made it a year and a half before I started to trail off....so whoopee!
